Printing Company Sets Up Polar Plunge Team, Raising a Record-Breaking $11,225 for Special Olympics of Montana
GREAT FALLS, Mont. — December 11, 2018 — Though the waters were icy cold, the mood was electric as the PrintingCenterUSA (www.printingcenterusa.com) team participated in the Great Falls Polar Plunge benefiting the Special Olympics of Montana (SOMT) on December 7, 2018. PrintingCenterUSA’s participation in the annual event was a first for the company, and the organization made a “splash” in the weeks leading up to the event by leveraging the power of its national customer base to donate a record-breaking $11,225 to SOMT. PrintingCenterUSA’s donation accounts for nearly 30 percent of all donations received by SOMT for the event, making it the largest contribution by one company for the Great Falls Polar Plunge.
PrintingCenterUSA’s fundraising campaign took place entirely online. Businesses and individuals placing an order with PrintingCenterUSA helped the organization fundraise by entering a promotional code at checkout to ensure a portion of their order benefited the SOMT. Donations from PrintingCenterUSA from individual online orders ranged from $25 to $100.
Not satisfied with simply making a donation, PrintingCenterUSA also formed a team in order to actively participate in the event and show their support. “We are customer service based,” said Haley Thomas, account services manager for PrintingCenterUSA. "Daily we are concerned with taking care of people, and helping people, which carried over to this event to help the Special Olympics of Montana carry out their mission. It was also a great way to come together as a team and get actively involved with our community during the holiday season."
The Great Falls Polar Plunge is one of twelve Polar Plunges across Montana. Participation provides individuals and organizations with a unique opportunity to support SOMT athletes by taking an icy dip into freezing waters. Plungers must raise the minimum amount to earn the privilege of taking the plunge. They can also raise additional funds and earn extra incentives along the way. Events like the Polar Plunges help support over 3,000 SOMT athletes.
