PIM PodiumIf you have an opportunity to stand at a podium in front of 170+ women…I suggest you take it!

Last Thursday, I had the honor of speaking to a (sold-out) crowd of 170+ beautiful women at the PIM (Printing Industry Midwest) 16th Annual Women-In-Print Event in Minneapolis, MN.

I remember my first few moments at the podium; I was speechless -- not because I didn’t have something to say – I just wanted to take a moment to enjoy what was right in front of me – women making the print industry better for our businesses and customers who desire and need relentless compassion, powerful strength, and continual industry knowledge!  I knew I was somewhere exceptional!

What they’re doing:  The attendee’s occupations were administrative, production, design/prepress, customer care, account services, account executives, managers, leadership, and owners!

PIM RoomThe program was scheduled from 11:30 to 2:00+. So, I couldn’t help but wonder how companies were managing during their absence.  You know what I mean. ”Hey, do you know how she handles this…do you know where this is…I don’t know how to do this…she always helps me with this…I have no idea how to respond to the customer, she always takes care of that…wait, you want me to do what…tell them we will call them back…I don’t know the answer to that question…she will take care of it when she returns!”

My husband had a plaque on his desk that read. “No One Knows What I Do Until It Doesn’t Get Done!”

Note to Printing Companies:  Please be mindful of the rough road many Women In Print have traveled to work with and for you.  I am one of those women who had a tough time securing a position in the Graphic Arts world when it wasn’t cool to be a female.

Women in Print, I acknowledge you and am grateful that I had the opportunity and privilege to stand before you and share my story!  I loved every moment!

Because of you, I worry less about who will be standing behind me when I can no longer work in this wonderful industry.

GAME ON!!!
