The Ghent Workgroup (GWG) is extending an invitation to printers, publishers and designers to attend a free seminar in Chicago on Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Attendees will hear from software developers, publishers, analysts, printers and other industry experts about the newest GWG specifications, how to avoid problems by using GWG test suites, and more. The GWG is holding its quarterly meeting in Chicago that week.
David Zwang, GWG Chairman, says: "We're excited to open up this seminar to those who use our specifications and best practices - or to help educate those who don't - so that everyone can benefit from our latest initiatives."
GWG production subcommittees include those focused on PDF preflight specifications, color management, office printing, packaging, job ticketing, process control and cross-media publishing. Recent work includes success in defining and handling of special and spot colors in PDF workflows for packaging.
The afternoon’s sessions will cover information about the GWG, specifications, PDF/X, implementation and cross-media publishing.
The first-come, first-served seminar will be held at The Conference Center at UBS Tower in Chicago, in the Michigan I room. RSVP is required: Send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name, e-mail address and the subject line, “I will attend the Chicago GWG seminar.”
