xpedx (www.xpedx.com) reports it has seen strong demand from U.S. printers for UPM coated sheet and web products since the two companies announced an exclusive, long-term distribution agreement in September. The papers, available at xpedx distribution centers and stores in the United States and Canada, are FSC or PEFC chain-of-custody certified. Papers sourced from UPM's European mills carry the European Union's eco-label, the EU Flower. “Printers tell us UPM coated papers deliver the quality, dependability and value they need,” said Rob Watson, director of marketing, printing papers at xpedx.
In other news, xpedx said it is providing increased resources and informational support to major digital press user groups and their members, including PODi, the digital print marketing and advocacy group, and Dscoop, the cooperative of Indigo users and HP. “We recognize that user groups are more important than ever today,” said Scott Harman, director of business imaging for xpedx. “xpedx is committed to being a significant resource for digital print providers of all sizes.”
