Four Vertis facilities gain FSC certification
Jan 31, 2008 12:05 PM
Vertis Communications (Baltimore) direct mail facilities in North Brunswick and Monroe Township, NJ, as well as Chalfont and Bristol, PA, are officially Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain-of-custody (COC) certified.
Vertis worked with FSC member organization Rainforest Alliance, an organization that helps companies bring responsibly produced goods and services to a global marketplace. The certification demonstrates Vertis’ commitment to environmentally and socially conscious forest management. Additionally, the designation enables Vertis to offer customers the option to select FSC-certified products for their direct mail and printing efforts, contributing to environmental awareness.
Vertis direct mail facilities will adhere to the requirements defined by SmartWood, a program of the Rainforest Alliance, and the world’s first global timber certification program, in order to maintain FSC certification. COC certification allows companies that manufacture and market forest products to brand them FSC.
