EFI announces shortened brand name, global strategy
Feb 2, 2004 12:00 PM, AP staff
Electronics For Imaging (Foster City, CA) has announced it will consolidate its products and services portfolio under the EFI brand name. In addition to shortening its brand name to EFI, the company is rolling out a redesign of its logo with a new tagline, “Essential to print.”
EFI CEO Guy Gecht noted the “Electronics For Imaging” name had become too limited to encompass the company’s broadening scope of software and hardware offerings, which had increased significantly with the company’s 2003 acquisitions of Printcafe, T/R Systems and Best GmbH. Under the new consolidated branding strategy, products such as Printcafe Hagen will be called EFI Hagen OA and T/R Systems Digital StoreFront will be called EFI Digital StoreFront.
In other news, EFI has created a PSI support center in Pittsburgh, combining customer support, product management, development and quality assurance in one location.
