EFI to acquire ADS Communications

EFI (Foster City, CA) has announced an agreement to acquire ADS Communications, Inc. (Scottsdale, AZ), a provider of office service automation software. The acquisition price is $11.5 million; EFI expects to close the deal by the end of February.

ADS’ current customers include IKON, Canon, Ricoh and Imagistics. ADS software has natural synergies with EFI’s Intelligent Device Management (IDM) software. EFI plans to combine IDM’s remote tracking and diagnostics with its own automatic service dispatch, which will reportedly allow for increased reliability and customer satisfaction.
