Creo to resell Xerox color digital presses
Jan 5, 2004 12:00 PM, by AP staff
Creo (Vancouver, BC) and Xerox Corp. (Rochester, NY) have entered into an agreement under which Creo will resell Xerox’s midrange and entry-level production color digital presses in the U.S. and Canada. Effective Feb. 1, Creo will sell the Xerox DocuColor 3535, 5252 and 6060 digital color presses combined with the Creo Spire color server and other prepress software. Creo will also work with Xerox’s direct sales force to identify sales opportunities for the DocuColor iGen3 production press. Creo will provide system analysis and applications support for the prepress workflow software systems, while Xerox will provide service and support for the digital presses. Xerox will continue to sell the Creo Spire color server as part of its digital print portfolio through existing Xerox channels.
The announcement comes on the heels of Xerox and Kodak Polychrome Graphics’ (KPG) (Norwalk, CT) decision to end their reseller agreement. KPG had previously sold Xerox midrange and entry-level production equipment in the U.S., including the DocuColor 2045, 2060, 6060 and 5252, as well as the DocuColor 3535 and 12 color copier-printers.
