Postpress conference to focus on profit through innovation

The Bindery, Finishing, and Mailing Operations Conference of the Research & Engineering Council of NAPL (Paramus, NJ) is slated for Sept. 25-27, 2006, at the Marriott O’Hare Hotel in Chicago. The conference will deliver on its theme, “Creating Business Solutions with Postpress Innovations,” by providing practical strategies for incorporating profit-building business solutions into daily bindery, finishing, and mailing operations.
Through a comprehensive program of sessions, workshops, and roundtable discussions, experts will draw on the latest case studies and industry research to discuss how attendees can:
- Profit from mailing and fulfillment.
- Streamline communication from prepress to postpress
with JDF/JMF workflow. - Implement lean manufacturing with such initiatives as 5-S and 6-S(afety).
- Use Digital Smart Factory concepts to improve postpress business performance.
- Discover cost-saving postal opportunities.
In a new offering this year, attendees will tour the Chicago Tribune Freedom Center, seeing first-hand the state-of-the-art printing and distribution center of one of the nation’s premier newspapers.
In an informative keynote presentation, Charles “Chuck” Miotke, president, US Magazine Group, Quebecor World, will provide “A View of Finishing and Distribution from 30,000 Feet.”
