Sep 6, 2006 1:35 PM

NAPL (Paramus, NJ), in conjuction with Printing Industries of Wisconsin (PIW) and Printing Industry of Illinois-Indiana Assn. (PII), will host a conference dedicated to organizational development and human resources. “It’s all about the people” will convene November 15-17 in Pewaukee, WI.

“Our labor force is changing along with the clients we serve, our competition and our business models,” says Joseph P. Truncale, NAPL president and CEO. “This one-of-a-kind conference will give attendees the insights and strategies they need to develop an organization-wide workforce that is prepared to meet current and future challenges.”

The conference program blends informative sessions, interactive workshops and case study presentations designed for individuals whose everyday tasks include HR and organizational development responsibilities within a graphic communications company.

Andrew Paparozzi, NAPL vice president and chief economist, will share results of NAPL’s “2006 Organizational Development and Compensation Study,” including insights on recruitment/retention strategies, enhancing the image of the graphic communications industry among prospective employees, and trends in employee education and training.

Debra Thompson, TG & Associates president, will share a “Road Map for Hiring.” Jedd Mendelson, principal of labor law firm Grotta, Glassman & Hoffman, will explore “The ABCs of Legal Issues.” Twyla Cummings, Ph.D., of Rochester Institute of Technology will look at “Diversity in the Workplace.” HR veteran Denise Kelly will offer advice on “Building a Compensation Plan.” And PIA/GATF’s Jim Kyger, SPHR, CCP, will offer an update on how HR is changing the print industry.

The conference also will feature roundtable discussions and opportunities for attendees to discuss their own HR issues with the experts.

The fee is $675 for NAPL, PIW and PII members ($575 for additional registrants from the same company); $775 for non-members ($695 for additional registrants). For more information, visit www.napl.org/events.
