KBA celebrates 190th jubilee
Aug 30, 2007 12:55 PM
KBA (Williston, VT) is celebrating its 190th jubilee. The 30th issue of KBA’s corporate magazine, KBA Report, is packed with information on print in all its facets.
KBA president and CEO Albrecht Bolza-Schünemann affirms the group's commitment to society and the print media industry in his editorial, in which he calls on printers to address environmental issues: “Why not seize the initiative and do everything technically possible – and economically feasible – to protect both the environment and employees? It can pay to go green!” This latest issue contains a raft of ideas for protecting the environment, from the Cortina waterless web offset press and sophisticated printing peripherals to enhance energy efficiency to advances in chemistry- and process-free CTP plates. Unit-type large-format sheetfed presses are another key topic. KBA’s Radebeul plant entered this challenging market 40 years ago. Four early pioneers of press engineering and prototyping look back on the origins of large-format presses from Radebeul in the late 1960s. Current user reports on the use of long Rapida press lines at European book, display and packaging printers reveal the current state of the art. KBA Report 30 also examines trends, solutions and successful business models in commercial, directory and newspaper printing.
The publication is available in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian, free of charge from KBA dealers or as a free downloadable PDF file here.
