PRESS RELEASE
Commercial sheetfed printer Challenge Printing (Eden Prairie, MN) purchased KBA North America’s (Williston, VT) Rapida 105 41-inch six-color sheetfed press with hybrid UV coating and drying from the show floor at Graph Expo 2004, after seeing the press in action at Drupa 2004 in May. The press was delivered to Challenge Printing immediately following the show.
"We have invested over $16.2 million in the last three years in capital equipment," says Bob Lothenbach, founder and president of Challenge Printing, "and we will be investing another $11 million in the next six to eight months." The Rapida 105 41-inch sheetfed press is the company’s second Rapida 105 and will join Challenge’s two additional Rapida presses, a Rapida 162 seven-color 64-inch sheetfed press with aqueous coating and a soon-to-be installed Rapida 205 six-color 81-inch sheetfed press. The company plans to use their latest addition in tandem with it’s existing Rapida 105 to help with capacity.
