IWCO Direct launches mail processing technology center
Dec 1, 2004 11:58 AM
IWCO Direct (Chanhassen, MN), an integrated direct mail services company, announces the establishment of a new high-speed mail processing technology center at its Chanhassen campus. Scheduled to go live in January 2005, the Center will utilize new high-speed equipment and technology to expand both capacity and capabilities for the company’s clients.
Says president and CEO Jim Andersen, “IWCO Direct's expansion initiatives are focused on high-speed lettershop equipment to support our print, plastics and envelope platforms, and the complex products and programs that are used by today’s leading direct marketers to increase response rates. We have designed the new facility to respond to the market’s demand for seamless production, enhanced quality and accuracy, and speed-to-market.”
In June, IWCO Direct announced expansion plans for its Little Falls, MN, facility that included high-speed affixers, embossers, bindery lines, inserters, and a fifth Siemens Dematic delivery-point bar code sorter for commingling. The efficiency gains from the new equipment in Little Falls accelerated IWCO Direct’s plan to establish a new high-speed mailing center in Chanhassen. In addition to investing in its current facilities, IWCO Direct is pursuing an acquisition outside of Minnesota.
IWCO says the new facility will operate 24/7 and will create more than 80 new full-time jobs in the manufacturing sector.
