Agfa Graphics (Mortsel, Belgium) has sold Xitron, Inc. (Ann Arbor, MI), which Agfa acquired as part of the company's Autologic acquisition at the end of 2001, to Vanguard Graphics Intl. (VGI) (St. Paul, MN).
Vanguard Graphics Intl. is a privately held holding company specializing in acquiring and managing graphic arts companies that serve small to midsize printers worldwide. In addition to Xitron, VGI owns Printware, LLC (St. Paul, Mn) and HighWater Designs Ltd. (Cheltenham, England).
Stanley Goldberg, President and CEO of VGI, says, “The acquisition of Xitron is a perfect fit with our strategy of acquiring ‘best of class’ graphic arts businesses that provide meaningful prepress solutions and allow our end users printers to operate more efficiently and effectively.”
