Sappi Fine Paper North America (Boston) has appointed Tom Collins director of its Cloquet, MN, pulp and paper mill, which it acquired this past March from Potlatch Papers. Collins joined Sappi in 1991 and managed the company’s Skowhegan, ME, pulp and paper mills.

Sappi also announced that it will hire approximately 580 of the more than 780 hourly employees who previously staffed the mill when owned by Potlatch Corp. Potlatch had terminated all Cloquet hourly employees upon the acquisition’s closing.
