Initiate and lead new product development projects in the plant. Manage portfolio of projects aimed at the facility. Provide focal point for all activities in the plant and act as a representative at the site. Function as primary Paper Expert for Variable Imprint business.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Lead site-specific product development projects that require component/supplier qualifications.
Key member of new product and process development teams.
Functions as the focal point for the plant for communications.
Primary product focus will be Variable Imprint Labels, but will also be the focal point for other product lines.
Will follow products through to field trials to develop an excellent understanding of customer needs.
Provide paper expertise to Variable Imprint business
Ability to translate voice of customer into technical specifications for product and process design.
Strong leadership skills with capability to develop into R&D or operations management.
Knowledge of statistical tools, including DOE, required with preference given to certified Six Sigma Black Belts.
Ability to lead product development projects in a manufacturing environment.
B.S or M.S. in chemistry or engineering (paper science) or equivalent.
Prefer individuals with a minimum of 5 years industrial experience in paper manufacturing, converting or R&D.
Experience in web handling and process development preferred.
Experience in adhesives, coatings, liners, converting or pressure-sensitive manufacturing is preferred.
