Kinko’s Inc. (Ventura, CA) has launched the first phase of a strategic plan designed to identify new areas of opportunity and ways to contain costs. As part of the plan, the company will relocate its corporate headquarters to an undetermined North Texas location, and adjust its field-support structure and staffing. The relocation site is based on the centralized location with a favorable business environment, a lower total cost of doing business, a competitive tax structure, and decreased travel costs and time.

Between now and the end of 2002, Kinko’s will transition a portion of its field-support organization to North Texas. The Venture, CA, facility will continue to house the company’s technology and operational accounting departments for the forseeable future; this includes approximately 300 employees. The organizational changes will result in the elimination of approximately 350 field-support positions, primarily from human resources, technology and operations support.
