Hammermill Papers (Memphis, TN) has announced the winners of its first annual Grand Color Copy Contest. Entries were received from all over the country, and ranged from brochures and sales flyers to greeting cards and calendars. All entries were printed on Hammermill Color Copy Paper and/or Color Copy Cover.
Hampden Press (Denver) won first place for its CH2Mhill Statement of Qualifications brochure. The paper, Photo White 28-lb. text and 80-lb. cover, was distributed by Xpedx. The multipage brochure appears to have been printed on an offset press, but was actually produced on a color copier. The brochure was chosen for its matching crossovers and binding along with "near-perfect" fleshtones.
Entries for the second annual 2002 Grand Color Copy Contest are due Feb. 15, 2002. All entries must be printed entirely on Hammermill Color Copy Paper or Cover, any size or weight of Photo White or Photo Natural. Entries are judged on print quality and creativity. First-, second- and third-place winners will receive prizes ranging from $250 to $1,000, and paid entry into the PrintImage Color Copy Competition. For more information, call (800) 242-2148.
