Fuji Hunt, a vendor of photochemistry and image quality control products, announced its recently established Digital Solutions division has been appointed as a GretagMacbeth European reseller for the photographic market.

This move combines GretagMacbeth’s full line of color control and management tools, including spectrophotometers, profiling, color quality control and workflow software, with Fuji Hunt’s color management services. This range of solutions will be offered through Fuji-Hunt’s offices in the UK, Europe, USA and Canada.

"This strategic partnership with GretagMacbeth enables us to supply a complete range of color management software and hardware aimed specifically at the photographic market," says Charles Henniker-Heaton, Fuji Hunt’s European marketing manager. "What makes this an even more exciting opportunity is the introduction of several new solutions, including the iProfile-Pro™ and iProfile-Basic™ Bundles as well as the recently launched Eye-One system – which brings professional colour management tools to a new, affordable price level." "Those of us involved in the digital market have already realized, or are beginning to realize, that color management is an essential tool for producing constant and reliable image quality. By offering the GretagMacbeth products, we are able to provide digital solutions to cover the full image handling spectrum from capture to final output, ensuring consistent colour reproduction throughout," concludes Henniker-Heaton.

"We are very excited to enter the photographic market with such a strong alliance partner, as we believe the photographic market is on the verge of a breakthrough of acceptance of color measurement and colour management solutions. This convergence towards color management is fueled to a large extent by the increasing demand for digital cameras and the availability of high quality, reasonable cost and low maintenance printers. By leveraging its established expertise in prepress, pressroom and creative markets, GretagMacbeth will enable Fuji-Hunt to continue to offer a broader range of high quality services and solutions to their customers as they migrate to the digital world", said Francis Lamy, Vice President and General Manager, Digital Imaging at GretagMacbeth.

Following a highly successful European launch, ProfileMaker™ 3.1, supplied as part of the iProfilePro Bundle, is now available from Fuji Hunt. With its comprehensive capabilities for profiling digital cameras, monitors and scanners at the input stage, and all print systems, including back lit film, at the output stage, the iProfilePro Bundle provides minilabs, prolabs, photofinishers, and imaging centres with everything they need to fully color manage all of their digital devices. Output options include such systems as the Frontier, Pictrography and Kiosk, along with numerous inkjet and laser output devices, including large format printing systems up to and including the Lambda.

The iProfilePro Bundle also enable the operator to provide clients and customers with input profiles in order for them to prepare their images before submitting them for output.
