SkillsUSA-VICA is a national organization for students in trade, industrial, technical and health occupations education. It sponsors the Skills USA Championships annually to recognize the achievements of vocational students and to encourage them to strive for excellence and pride in their chosen occupations.
The contests are planned by technical committees made up of representatives of labor and management and are designed to test entry-level skills required for specific occupations. The five-part graphic-arts competition tests student’s layout and design, film image assembly; plate making, offset duplication and problem-solving skills. For more information, see www.skillsusa.org.
