The Dingley Press (Lisbon, ME) has expanded an extensive lineup of Heidelberg web press and postpress equipment, installing two new Pacesetter 1000 saddlestitchers. The company specializes in catalog printing and now runs 10 high-volume stitchers

. The new Pacesetters at The Dingley Press can stitch up to 20,000 books per hour and are equipped for advanced selective binding and ink jet personalization. Both systems feature 20 vertical hoppers as well as Heidelberg HT-20 three-knife trimmers, BS-60 stackers and Omnicon control systems.

Bill Braley, vice president of manufacturing at The Dingley Press, said the new saddlestitchers were installed to meet growing volume demands. "We needed to bring postpress capacity in line with our press capacity, especially following the installation of a two-web Heidelberg Sunday 3000 that produces up to 100,000 48-page magazine forms per hour," the exec explained.

The Dingley Press is an independent, owner-operated company with 400 employees. The company produces more than 450 million catalogs annually.
