NAPL RECOGNIZES BEST-MANAGED PRINTERS
Mar 1, 2002 12:00 PM
Thirty-five graphic arts organizations have been named the industry's best-managed operations in NAPL's (Paramus, NJ) 2001 Management Plus Awards competition. Lazer Inc. (Rochester, NY) has won the highest honor, the William K. Marrinan Hall of Fame Award. In addition, 11 companies have won Gold Awards; 12 have received Silver Awards; and 11, Merit Awards. NAPL, american printer, Compass Capital Partners (Radnor, PA) and MAN Roland (Westmont, IL) co-sponsor the annual awards program.
Management excellence is based on comparisons of performance levels in select categories to industry standards, and to competitors of similar size and characteristics. Contest entrants are judged in nine areas: internal control systems, financial performance, marketing/sales plan, business planning, human resources, environmental/safety concerns, quality control, community/industry affairs, and vendor relations. Winners are selected in five size-based categories, with a sixth category recognizing in-plant printers.
For more information about the Management Plus award program, which includes a benchmarking evaluation and optional contest entry, contact NAPL at (800) 642-6275 ext. 1307.
