GRAPHICS MICROSYSTEMS OPENS TEXAS FACILITY
May 1, 2002 12:00 PM
Color-control equipment manufacturer Graphics Microsystems, Inc. (GMI) (Sunnyvale, CA) opened its new 50,000-sq.-ft. facility in Rockwall, TX, this past February. The new building reportedly will decrease the lead time to fulfill customer demand for GMI products. GMI's Sunnyvale headquarters was also expanded to include the company's growing R&D program and additional software test labs.
In other news, GMI's ColorQuick has been qualified to be sold on Heidelberg Web Systems (HWS) (Dover, NH) contracts without a performance waiver, reportedly the first closed-loop color-control system receiving HWS qualification.
Outside the new facility are (l-r) Jerry Funderburgh, GMI vp, operations; George Hatfield, Rockwell Economic Development Corporate Board president; Eddie Deering, GMI plant manager; and Erik A. Tobiason, GMI general manager.
