Marketing Alliance Group (Dalton, GA ) received an SGIA “Golden Image” award during SGIA Expo in October 2009. The winning entry, “Wear-Dated Dandelion Overlay,” won top honors in the “Plastic Products/Digital Entries” category. The graphic was produced with an Inca Spider using 4-color process and white UV inks by Nazdar. It was printed on 0.02 clear PETG and then diecut to fit as an overlay on a carpet sample.

“[We were] thrilled to be honored with a SGIA Golden Image award last year,” says retail services director Julie Pownall. “I am so glad there is an avenue for screen and digital printers to be recognized for quality work.”

As a provider of offset, digital and screen printing, Marketing Alliance Group ( is able to produce virtually any type of visual merchandising. The firm caters to a variety of retailers and brand companies in need of point-of-purchase (POP), point-of-service (POS) and permanent programs with a full suite of printing technologies.

Pownall says Marketing Alliance Group garners a unique advantage by offering offset, screen and digital. Offset suits the temporary market well and is better for higher quantities, while screen printing and digital imaging enables the firm to print on almost any material and any thickness with very little size limitation.

“The only challenge we've foreseen with both printing capabilities is matching images between applications and substrate to substrate,” Pownall says. “It is critical that profiles are mastered, monitored and utilized every time we print across printing platforms. But all in all, it's a huge advantage.”

The firm is submitting another entry in this year's competition. See the winners up close and personal at the 2010 SGIA Expo, October 13-15 in Las Vegas. See, keyword: 2010Expo.
