The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership celebrates a successful first year. The group has nine certified printers to date, and more than 50 SGP applicants in the program (and more companies in the process). According to Marcia Kinter, board chairman, “We are pleased with the progress of the SGP program, especially in light of these economic times.”
"We have had an exciting first year, and see many more opportunities for growth and improvement in the years to come,” states Karen Gross, executive director. In addition to successfully launching its online application process in August 2008, an 18 member board was seated, with the first official board meeting held in March 2009.
In our first year, SGP has grown its Patron Program as well, including HP as a Platinum Patron. Other patrons include Durst, Dupont, BCM Inks, Environmental Inks & Coatings, Explorer Pressroom Solutions, Flint Group, INX International Ink Co., MacDermid, Mohawk Fine Papers, Pace Industries, Reliable Paper Recycling and Xcel Products.
The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership is a non-profit organization devoted to encouraging and promoting participation in the worldwide movement to reduce the environmental impact and increase the social responsibility of the print and graphic communication industry through sustainable green printing practices.
