Konica Minolta announces the availability of the new, 70-ppm bizhub PRESS C70hc. It leverages Konica Minolta’s ecofriendly High Chroma toner, first introduced with the bizhub PRO C65hc. The toner boasts a wide color gamut, low waste generation and low emissions. Konica Minolta’s custom-designed IC-601 Internal Print Controller brings workflow benefits including 1,200 dpi printing at full rated engine speed; high-speed RIP processing and transfer between control and print engine; enhanced accuracy in CMYK color reproduction; and new color management functions, job control, editing functions, and remote operation capabilities. The IC-601 also features Optimized Profiler, a mapping algorithm with settings fine-tuned to achieve various results: CMYK; RGB Natural Mode; and RGB Vivid Mode.
Konica Minolta also annouces a partnership with Screen USA to market the Truepress Jet520 series continuous-feed, single-pass inkjet printers in the United States. This extends Konica Minolta’s production print portfolio from the toner-based market into the high-end inkjet-based market.
The Truepress Jet520 series is a full-color variable printing system that combines Dainippon Screen’s high-quality prepress technology with the latest color inkjet technology. In addition to printing different images and text at high-quality on each page, the Truepress Jet520 Series features a roll-fed paper transport system that enables high-volume printing up to 722 fpm.
“We are very excited to partner with Konica Minolta to market the Truepress Jet520 Series for high-quality variable printing of books, newspapers, direct mail and promotional materials,” says Mike Fox, president, Screen USA. “With Konica Minolta’s strong resources and support, we can further extend the Truepress’ reputation as an impressive on-demand printer capable of handling diverse applications.”
