Rolling Meadows, IL-based Screen USA will highlight its newest and most popular digital printing and prepress technology at Graph Expo 2010. Screen representatives will demonstrate the numerous profit-making opportunities print service providers can cultivate in the commercial, publishing, packaging, sign and transactional printing markets.
Mike Fox, president, says, “We plan to give visitors plenty to see and compare in terms of market-leading digital printing, computer-to-plate and workflow products.”
The full-color Truepress Jet520 high-speed continuous inkjet press, which has seen more than 200 installations worldwide, will be demonstrated. Attendees also will see the Truepress Jet2500UV printing on roll-fed and flatbed-format substrates using its high-resolution printing heads. Thanks to its versatile printing capabilities on plastic film, sheets and board, the grand-format UV inkjet printer adds value to products including signs, billboards, vehicle wraps, posters, transit advertising and exhibits. The Truepress Jet2500UV’s eight-level grayscale printing heads and maximum output resolution of 1,500 dpi reportedly combine to produce realistic photographs and crisp text that rival offset printing.
Screen introduced the Truepress Jet1600UV-F to provide a cost-effective and easy-to-use flatbed alternative for wide-format printing applications. The Truepress Jet1600UV-F features two types of UV ink (for flexible media and rigid media) that can be stretched by up to 200 percent, as well as cast or bent. Incorporating the latest advances in inkjet printing and UV-LED curing, the Truepress Jet1600UV-F excels at printing vivid, full-color signs and displays, backlit graphics, posters and point-of-purchase materials.
Visitors will be able to investigate two platesetters for printed label, flexible packaging, carton and corrugated cardboard applications. The PlateRite FX1524 and PlateRite FX870II image flexo plates, letterpress plates and thermal ablative film at a choice of 2,400 dpi, 2,540 dpi or 4,800 dpi resolutions with screen rulings up to 200 lpi.
Current and prospective Screen workflow users will receive in-depth demonstrations of Trueflow SE Ver. 7.2. The latest version of Screen's flagship PDF- and JDF-based workflow management system optimizes print production with tools to manage production to multiple CTP recorders, digital presses and proofing systems.
