Pikes Peak Litho, a four-time “Benny” winner for its large-format printing, art prints and point-of-purchase materials, has installed a 400-watt/inch cold UV curing system on its 77-inch, seven-color Harris press. It consists of both inter-deck and delivery lamp assemblies. The system was purchased through PRI Technologies (www.superblue.net/irdryers.htm).

Printing with hybrid inks and UV coating inline allows Pikes Peak Litho to print on a variety of nonabsorbent substrates. Quick dry times enable faster job turn times. Dry trapping between units reportedly minimizes dot gain and improves clarity and contrast. See www.pikespeaklitho.com.
