Brandon Lutze, a Cal Poly Graphic Communication (www.grc.calpoly.edu) senior, took first place in the GAERF 2010 Student Design Competition, Post Secondary category. The contest challenged students to create marketing materials designed to promote next year's Graph Expo show.
Royal Oak High School (Royal Oak, MI) won the 2010 Frederick D. Kagy “Education Award of Excellence.” The award will be presented at PIA's (www.printing.org) fall meeting, November 11-14, 2010, in San Francisco.
Three Royal Oak students received awards at Graph Expo 2010: John Litwinowicz received his SkillsUSA gold medal, Colin Dean received a $2,000 check for his national winning poster design for GAERF (www.gaerf.org), and Jarrad Barrick received a $2,000 national scholarship from EDSF (www.edsf.org).
Cal Poly student Kathleen Lee took third place in GAERF's poster competition and received an award of $1,000 for her entry, “Print Is Alive.”
